Beautiful flower bouquets to buy

No matter who you’re shopping for we’ve got the perfect gift; a bouquet of beautiful flowers! Flower bouquets are incredibly diverse because a 'bouquet' is not one set thing. The type of flowers used and the colour of the paper the bouquet is wrapped in can completely change the look of a bouquet, which is why they make excellent floral gifts.

NetFlorist is South Africa's most loved online florist, we have a wide range of gifts and flowers available for delivery anywhere nationwide! Not only can our florists help you buy flowers to suit the recipient and occasion, they also have helpful tips to make sure you get the most bloom for your buck! Caring for your bouquet of beautiful cut flowers is important as it can make a big difference in how long you get to enjoy the breathtaking blooms for.

Our florists have compiled a list of top tips to help you keep your cut flowers fresh for as long as possible:

  • Cut the stems – Stems need to be cut at a 45’ angle to eliminate air bubbles and ensure the flower is easily able to take in water.

  • Recut the stems – Don’t forget to recut the stem every few days to make sure the flower can absorb water.

  • Remove leaves – Strip off any leaves that fall below the water line. This is to avoid rot and bacterial growth in the water. Plants like drinking clean water too!

  • Change the water – Don’t forget to change the water. Changing the water daily removes bacteria and helps keep the blooms looking fresh and beautiful!

  • No direct sunlight – Growing flowers might love the sun, but cut flowers don’t.

  • Keep it cool – There’s a reason florists store their flowers in a cold room; flowers stay fresh much longer in cooler temperatures.
