This outdoor half day adventure Takes place on a 600-hectre conservancy just 45 minutes from Johannesburg and Pretoria. It consists of a five-kilometre hike on the Phalindigwe Hiking trail combining a 15m rock-climb, a 25m cliff abseil located on the most magnificent lookout point on the trail, gentle kloofing and ending off with a picnic lunch on the banks of the Crocodile River.

The hiking trail includes a variety of eco-systems ranging from Highveld acacia savannah to riverine forest as it mainly follows the course of the river. The ideal way of getting out, being active and enjoying nature at its best.

The Day includes:

• A five-kilometre hike on the Phalindigwe trail to the abseil site
• A break for cool drinks under a grove of large white stinkwood trees facing 40m-high gorges
• A supervised climb up a rock-face adopting the same methods used in indoor climbing walls so there is no possibility of falling with the exception this is a wilderness outdoor experience on natural crags
• A gentle kloofing scramble
• Two abseil descents down the cliff-face onto the banks of the Crocodile River
• Substantial picnic lunch

General Information

• All safety briefings and all safety equipment is provided
• No previous experience is needed as all the guides are trained and the abseiling is conducted by qualified supervisors
• The trip takes approximately hours to complete
• Secure parking at Preller House restaurant
• Vehicle Transfers to and from the trail are included
• A basic level of fitness and good health is required
• All guests will need to sign an indemnity on commencement of the adventure all additional standard terms and conditions apply
• Children over 9 yrs may participate
• Minimum of 4 persons required per trip
• The trip starts at 10:00 in winter and at 09:00 in summer and lasts approximately 5 hours
• Bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability
• Cancellations within 48 hours of the booked experience will be charged for in full or can be moved to another available date
